Biography:

Brendon McIntosh is a M?ori pharmacist and doctoral candidate whose research focuses on Indigenous models of diabetes care and pharmacist-facilitated medication review for equity-priority populations. His work integrates Kaupapa M?ori research principles with health systems analysis to translate Indigenous values into practical service design. Brendon is the founder of Kia Kaha Chemist, a community-based mobile pharmacy service, and contributes to governance and workforce development across primary care and Indigenous health sectors. His research aims to reposition Indigenous knowledge as foundational to effective, equitable chronic disease care.

Research Interests:

Brendon McIntosh’s research interests center on Indigenous health systems, equitable diabetes care and pharmacist-led clinical interventions for priority populations. He is particularly focused on integrating Kaupapa M?ori research principles into healthcare delivery, exploring how Indigenous knowledge frameworks can inform culturally responsive and effective models of chronic disease management.
